Official contract knives during the Viet Nam war were made by Camillus and Conetta. Beyond that I know Kiffe and Gutman had Mark 2 type knives cataloged and they were manufactured in Japan during the Vietnam war.

Who made the SOG knives during the Vietnam War period? Certainly not the current SOG which I believe started up in 1986. What about EK knives? I feel sure there was a big difference between guys who were mostly support and the guys that hit the field on operations.

I was gifted these about 15 years ago by a former Marine sniper and Vietnam vet. He was always quiet about what he did during the war but over time I learned he was usually involved with the units we dont hear much about and spent time working with Hathcock. So what's everyone's opinions on Cold steel swords?
They seem nice, but are they really? Is the quality good? Anyone have one and think that they are well worth the money? I like their knives, but am still unsure about the swords. The European swords in particular, but am open to opinions on their Japanese swords as well.

Windlass also recently discontinued wholesaling the weapons to retailers in porder to demand/command their pricing. What Museum Replicas has offered is a wide range of items at prices for the more budget minded. I have owned a handful of items from them and still like a sword I bought from them in 1999.
